Dear JNFT Reader:
As you may know, Kay Ingamells, Tom Carlson, and I have developed a unique learning opportunity for those who are interested in developing artistry in the craft of narrative therapy. I have long believed that becoming a skilled narrative therapist is more akin to learning to become an artist who hones her/his skills through years of close study under the guidance of a masterful ‘apprenticer.’ For many years, I have taken up this apprenticeship model to guide my supervision of a select group of narrative therapists around the world in hopes that it would inspire a re-imagining of narrative therapy ideas and practices. I have been so enthused by the promise of using this apprenticeship approach that I have been joined by my colleagues Kay Ingamells and Tom Carlson in creating an extensive training experience for narrative therapists that we are calling “Apprenticeship in the Artistry of Narrative Practice.” This year-long apprenticeship is intended for therapists who are committed to learning how to engage in advanced narrative therapy skills and practices and in due course, to become 'apprenticers' in their own right. Narrative therapists of all levels are encouraged to participate in this unique learning opportunity. If you are someone who is passionate about narrative ideas and practices and wants to bring more creativity and artistry into your practice, we invite you to consider applying for a place in the next round of apprenticeships beginning in September 2020 - August 2021. To learn more about becoming an apprentice in the artistry of narrative practice, and to see apprentice testimonials, please visit our website at www.narrativeapprentice.com. Come to our online informational meeting on August 19th from 3pm - 4:15 pm Easter Standard Time. To register please email: [email protected] Sincerely, David Epston
